Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- Web subscriptions: log in and visit /account → "Manage Subscription" → opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel immediately. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
- App Store (iOS): Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → CopDefender → Cancel.
- Google Play (Android): Play Store app → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → CopDefender → Cancel.
You will continue to have access to paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for.
2. Monthly & Annual Subscriptions — 7-day refund window
If you purchased a Shield or Shield+ plan directly through our website (Stripe), you may request a full refund within 7 days of the original charge, provided you have not used more than 1 GB of cloud storage in that period. Email billing@copdefender.app with your account email and the charge date.
After the 7-day window, monthly and annual plans are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time and avoid future charges.
3. Lifetime Purchase — 14-day refund window
The Lifetime plan ($149) carries a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase, provided you have not exported, downloaded, or shared more than 5 cloud-stored recordings. After 14 days, the Lifetime plan is non-refundable.
4. App Store and Google Play purchases
Subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google are billed by them, not us. We cannot issue refunds for those purchases. Request refunds directly:
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google: Google Play refund request
5. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. Most issues can be resolved within 24 hours. Chargebacks filed without prior contact may result in account suspension and forfeiture of any service credit.
6. Service outage credits
If a confirmed service outage prevents access to paid features for more than 24 consecutive hours in a billing cycle, we will issue a pro-rated credit on request.
7. Required statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law (including the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and equivalent state-level statutes in the US).
